The civil scope included design of grading, parking, utilities, stormwater drainage, walkways, and building addition. The structure is mainly constructed with a metal stud cavity wall with brick veneer to match the existing building.
The rehabilitated facility houses the education, mathematics, psychology, philosophy, and Africana-Latino studies departments, along with general education classrooms and spaces.
The total construction cost was $28.5 million and was designed to meet LEED Silver requirements in accordance with the U.S. Green Building Council.
