Toomey Abbott Tower Wins Gold
Toomey Abbott Towers was presented with a Gold Award for Excellence in Concrete by the Central New York Chapter of the American Concrete Institute.
Ryan Biggs | Clark Davis served as Structural Engineer for the restoration of the Syracuse Housing Authority's Toomey Abbott Tower, a 24-story residential tower built in 1968. The tower is comprised of a cast-in-place concrete frame clad with precast concrete panels. Ryan Biggs | Clark Davis was part of the winning team that provided exterior concrete repairs.
The ACI CNY Design and Installation Awards is an annual awards program that aims to recognize the region's best concrete and masonry projects. Awards are given to the projects that best promote the use of these materials while raising awareness of their uses. The 2019 program was postponed due to COVID and recently presented virtually; Kyle Oberdorf, P.E., a Senior Engineer at the firm, gave an overview of the project to the virtual awards audience.
