Hamilton College Health & Wellness Center Wins Award of Merit

The Health and Wellness Center project at Hamilton College was presented with a Merit Award for Excellence in Masonry by the Central New York Chapter of the American Concrete Institute.

Ryan Biggs | Clark Davis served as Structural Engineer for the design of the Johnson Center for Health and Wellness on the campus of Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. The hand-placed stone on the exterior facade used a back bed of mortar to achieve a dry-laid look without the appearance of mortar joints.  The finished building is comprised of a shared waiting room, reception, conference/staff room, group rooms, sunroom, and biofeedback space on the second floor.  The clinical suite contains offices, exam rooms, nurse's station, medication room, laboratory, and a student-run EMT station.

The ACI CNY Design and Installation Awards is an annual awards program that aims to recognize the region's best concrete and masonry projects. Awards are given to the projects that best promote the use of these materials while raising awareness of their uses.  The 2019 program was postponed due to COVID and recently presented virtually.
