Stacey Thomas attended “JAHN Hands-on Event: Permanent Repairs in Masonry Restoration” in Long Island City, NY recently.

This workshop was designed for Architects, Engineers, and Historic Preservationists, and attendees worked with Cathedral Stone Experts on restoration techniques and product demos. Demos included: masonry repair, injection grouting, single-layer pointing, masonry cleaning (acid-free), paint strippers, water repellents, potassium silicate coatings, and molds and casting mortars. Attendees also listened to Master Mason & Stonecutter, Dennis Rudes’, presentation, “Permanent Repairs in Masonry Restoration.” While there, Stacey learned to work with a stone repair material that is being used on one of her current projects.
