Larned Judges Student Steel Bridge Competition

Nadya Larned, P.E., is at West Point serving as a judge for the 2025 AISC Student Steel Bridge Competition!

The competition is held as part of the ASCE Upstate New York–Canada Student Symposium. This regional event challenges students to extend their classroom knowledge through a practical, hands-on steel design project that develops their interpersonal and professional skills, encourages innovation, and fosters impactful relationships between students and industry professionals. Students develop a concept for a scale-model steel bridge to span approximately 20 feet and to carry 2,500 pounds. Nadya is one of many industry professionals evaluating the bridges based on construction speed, strength, aesthetic, and overall performance. It’s always exciting to support the next generation of engineers as they bring their classroom knowledge to life. 🛠️
