Morgan Stanley Global Headquarters LED Display, NY, NY
Ryan Biggs Clark Davis is providing structural engineering services for two (2) three-sided digital displays that extend along West 47th Street, Broadway, and West 48th Street in New York City.
This display is unique because it was designed to work around windows that are behind the display. This was accomplished by breaking the display up into a series of ribbons and louvers which are thin strips of LED display supported by HSS beams hidden within an aluminum extrusion. The entire frame for the LED structure is supported by large HSS tube hangers supported by bracket frames that project from the roof. The upper display hangers are HSS 24x12s and the lower display are HSS20x12s. At each of the four corners the display and steel framing make a rounded “bullnosed” corner. These bullnose areas have five levels of accessible catwalks for LED maintenance and window cleaning. We are proudly working with North Shore Neon and SNA Displays on this project.
